Hello

This is my home page.  I have no home page content.  Some people who care about good web site user experience would say I shouldn't have a home page with no content.  But here you are.

There are links to other things over to the right.

Please click the link that says "Tell me where you're from."  I like seeing who came to visit my web site and where they came from.

There's a link to my blog.  I don't blog very much, but feel free to read what's there, and if you do, go ahead and add your comments to any of my posts.

There's also a link to my remodel blog.  I've just started a project to remodel the downstairs of my house and create a really nice master bedroom suite.  Check out the progress and photos, and weigh in with your advice and suggestions.

There's a link to my links.  That's really just my portable favorites or bookmarks, depending which browser you use.  My favorites probably don't have much in common with yours, so you can skip that link unless you really care what my favorite links are.

The photo albums over there are a pretty varied mish-mash.  Some family photos, some travel stuff.  Pick and choose wisely, or you may find yourself in the still-photo equivalent of a home-movie marathon.

My holiday letters will give you a rundown of my life over the last decade plus.  Unless you actually care about my life over the last decade, I recommend skipping it, although some of them are quite clever and well-written, IMHO.

Down at the bottom is a link you can use to send me an e-mail.  Only use it if you really want to send me an e-mail.

Thanks for coming to visit my web site.  Have fun.

What's nocloset?

A word about the name of this site.  It's supposed to be a succinct statement about being gay.  It's not really a personal statement (although I am not "in the closet").  It's my way of saying I wish we lived in a world where people didn't have to come out of closets in order to be themselves.  I wish there were no closets at all.

About my holiday letters

1996 was a momentous year for me. I turned 40, but that wasn't even the most significant event of the year. In 1996, I left my career as a choral conductor/educator behind me, and I entered the high tech world.

In order to catch up all my friends with the big change in my life, I wrote a holiday letter that year. I'd never written one before. In fact, I'd pretty much eschewed them, fearful of falling into the trap of chronicling a boring year for a bored audience.

But I made up my mind to do it in a way that would entertain, and people seemed to enjoy it, so it sort of turned into a tradition. In fact, over the years, people have told me that they actually look forward to my holiday letter. Each year, it gets harder and harder to come up with a new theme, but I enjoy the challenge.

Anyway, click the links at the right to catch up with my life since 1996.
