Some updates:
- I'm at 183, still 8 pounds away from the 175 I've resolved to hit by February 11th. That's going to be tough to pull off in three weeks.
- I lost my first team member on the last day before the holiday break. He technically didn't leave until into the new year, so I guess I managed to get through 2006 without anyone on my team leaving, but that's just a technicality.
- I haven't written in like two weeks.
- I had my check-in with the doctor this past Friday and got a good report. My numbers are all excellent. I'm staying off the Metformin indefinitely, but still taking Crestor and Lisinopril. My blood pressure was 112/68, and he was very pleased about that, so maybe we will reduce the dosage on the Lisinopril.
I finished reading March, by Geraldine Brooks. It was a wonderful book. And I'm almost done reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, by Mark Haddon. Also a wonderful book. I don't have a pending book on my shelf, but the book club at work (for which March was the inaugural read) is meeting tomorrow and will no doubt select the next book to talk about.
I tried watching The Godfather yesterday. I saw it in the theatres when it first came out, and I remember not loving it that much. Anyway, I thought it was time to give it another go, and I'd gotten it from Netflix. An hour in I ejected it and sent it back. Sure, it's a good movie, maybe even a great movie, but I just couldn't get into it, and I didn't want to devote another 2 hours to it followed by another 3 hours for Part Two, and then there's still Part Three.
Maybe I actually do love to read. Now if I can just get myself back to working on the novel, or on something.
Hey, at least I got a blog posting done today!
